This month’s updates for our Dynamics partners are mostly about better ways to start and shape customer conversations. Microsoft introduced Dynamics 365 Activate to speed up Salesforce migration assessments, added natural-language app building to Copilot Studio and Copilot Cowork and shared new agentic ERP demos alongside a guide to using Copilot across Dynamics 365. There’s also a Copilot Business billing change on December 1 worth knowing about if you sell Copilot alongside Dynamics.

Here’s what to have on your radar, and what each change means for you and your customers.

Product and feature updates

What is Dynamics 365 Activate?

Dynamics 365 Activate is a new AI-assisted solution that simplifies migration assessment and planning. Starting with a limited public preview for Salesforce-to-Dynamics 365 migrations, it analyzes data, processes, customizations and dependencies to help implementation teams identify risks, define the future-state solution and build a clearer migration roadmap.

What this means for you:

Dynamics 365 Activate can strengthen early-stage discovery and migration planning. This allows partners to use the output to assess Salesforce environments faster, identify risks and dependencies earlier and focus more time on solution architecture, industry expertise and change management.

To get started:

  • Identify Salesforce customers that may benefit from a structured Dynamics 365 migration assessment
  • Review the preview details and decide whether your organization should participate

Build business apps through natural-language experiences

Microsoft is introducing natural-language app-building experiences to Copilot Studio and Copilot Cowork. Customers can describe the business solution they need, create a working app through a conversational experience and refine it as requirements evolve.

What this means for you:

These capabilities expand opportunities to help customers turn ideas into working applications faster and increase adoption of the Microsoft AI platform.

Choose the right starting point based on the desired business outcome, target users, governance requirements and broader solution needs, then decide whether Copilot Studio, Copilot Cowork or Power Apps fits the customer scenario best.

Pricing updates

Usage-based billing becomes the default for new Copilot Business licenses

Starting December 1, 2026, new Microsoft 365 Copilot Business purchases through CSP, including standalone licenses and bundles, will have usage-based billing enabled by default.

Pay-as-you-go will be the default billing configuration to help customers access eligible usage-based experiences, including Copilot Cowork, Work IQ APIs and GitHub Copilot Harness with less billing setup, while also providing flexibility to expand usage over time based on business needs.

Key details:

  • Effective date: December 1, 2026 (previously communicated as November 2)
  • Default spending limit: 4,000 Copilot Credits per user per month. This can be adjusted by admins
  • Sandbox testing: Partner Center sandbox environments will be available November 2 to help drive partner technical readiness and testing

What this means for you:

As customers explore agents, APIs and advanced Copilot experiences, it’s worth talking through how usage-based billing fits their architecture, their desired monthly spend and their adoption plan. Having that conversation early simplifies customer onboarding and reduces billing concerns. Leverage Partner Center sandbox environments to test scenarios and build implementation readiness ahead of customer deployments.

We cover these changes in more detail in our blog post on usage-based billing. You can also review Microsoft’s partner opportunity deck and FAQ to get your team up to speed.

What is the Agentic Business Solutions specialization?

The Agentic Business Solutions specialization consolidates and replaces the Low Code Application Development and Intelligent Automation specializations. It combines low-code application development, intelligent automation and agent building with Copilot Studio together in one specialization. Partners enrolled in either of the former specializations were automatically enrolled when the new specialization launched on July 31, 2026.

What this means for you:

The new, consolidated specialization reflects how partners deliver AI-powered business solutions today across Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio and agentic experiences. Existing and prospective specialization partners should review the new requirements and transition plan.
